My average pace is down to 8:29:50 per mile. For the half mile included in this picture, I was running at an average pace of 11:08 per mile -- my worst pace by far. I was heeding the thought, "Slow Down!," and I thought I was finished. But a long, arduous, confused calculation showed I was still on pace to beat my time from last year if I ran only a 10:00 per mile pace for the next 1.2 miles. So, I pulled myself together, pushed through the pain, and picked up the pace to 9:20 per mile. This is the miracle of the marathon!
