At the "Athletes Village"
Waiting for my "Wave" to be called to start my eighth marathon and my second Boston Marathon. My stretch goal is to run the marathon in three hours and forty minutes or less. My realistic goal is to set a personal record at Boston, which requires that I complete the race in less than three hours, fifty-one minutes and six seconds. But failing these, my goal is to at least achieve my fourth Boston Qualifying time, which requires that I finish in three hours and fifty-five minutes or less. I have a few nerves. Shirley and I moved to Orlando from Tucson and did the move ourselves during the final weeks of my training. The right side of my left calf has had my attention and my right hamstring was tweaked on Thursday and has been a little sore. I don't know what these things hold for me during the next 26.2 miles.
